What IT and compliance leads ask
If your question is not here, call. Most of these came from walkthroughs.
Bring your retention schedule. We will tell you what it actually costs to meet it.
Questions and answers
- What is an air gap, exactly?
- No network interface at all. Media in the vault is not connected to anything, so it cannot be reached, encrypted, or deleted remotely. Not logically separated — physically unreachable.
- Do you replace our cloud backup?
- No, and be suspicious of anyone who says yes. Cloud is your fast tier and it is better at day-to-day recovery. The vault copy is for the day the cloud account itself is the problem.
- Do you access our data?
- Never. We take custody of sealed physical media. We have no drives, we do not mount cartridges, and we do not open boxes.
- Does using you make us compliant?
- No. Storage cannot make you compliant. It provides the physical custody and evidence layer a programme relies on. Our compliance pages state exactly where that line sits.
- How fast can we get media back?
- Scheduled rotations run daily, weekly, or monthly. Contracted clients also get 24/7 emergency retrieval outside the schedule.
- What happens if a rotation is missed?
- It is logged and flagged. A gap you can see is a problem you can fix. A gap nobody notices is what an audit finds.
- Do you accept legacy LTO generations?
- Yes, all of them. Legacy cartridges are common and often hold the only copy of something an auditor will eventually ask for.
- What does it cost to leave?
- Nothing beyond collecting your media. We do not charge permanent-withdrawal fees.
See the vault before you decide.
Tours are private and by appointment. You will see the vault door, the man-trap entry, and the box sizes in person. No account relationship is required to visit.
