A CUSTODIAN of physical media. Not a backup software vendor, not a managed
service provider, not a disaster recovery consultancy. We never access media
contents — media arrives sealed and stays sealed. We have no drives and do not
mount cartridges.

## Position on compliance (important)
Storage cannot make an organisation compliant. This service provides the
physical safeguard and custody-evidence layer that a compliance programme
relies on. No page on this site certifies that any arrangement satisfies HIPAA,
SEC or FINRA books-and-records rules, SOX, PCI DSS, or any retention
obligation. The site does not state retention periods and does not give legal

## The core argument
Modern ransomware targets backups first and dwells in a network for weeks
before triggering. It locates and corrupts backup servers, replicas, snapshots
and reachable cloud targets, then encrypts production. Every one of those steps
requires the backup to be reachable. A cartridge in a vault with no network
interface cannot be encrypted, expired or deleted remotely. Cloud immutability
is a real control but fails on misconfiguration, on retention windows shorter
than the dwell time, and on loss of the account itself.
