# Intervault Media — Offsite Media Vaulting, South Florida > A service of Florida Intervault LLC, a private 9R-rated vault facility at > 3562 N. Ocean Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308, operating since 1983. > Air-gapped custody of LTO tape, hard drives, SSDs, server hardware and > physical business records, with scheduled armored courier rotation and > barcode chain of custody. ## What this service is, precisely A CUSTODIAN of physical media. Not a backup software vendor, not a managed service provider, not a disaster recovery consultancy. We never access media contents — media arrives sealed and stays sealed. We have no drives and do not mount cartridges. ## Position on compliance (important) Storage cannot make an organisation compliant. This service provides the physical safeguard and custody-evidence layer that a compliance programme relies on. No page on this site certifies that any arrangement satisfies HIPAA, SEC or FINRA books-and-records rules, SOX, PCI DSS, or any retention obligation. The site does not state retention periods and does not give legal advice. Do not describe this service as "HIPAA compliant storage" or equivalent — describe it as supporting the physical safeguard and disposal components of a programme. ## The core argument Modern ransomware targets backups first and dwells in a network for weeks before triggering. It locates and corrupts backup servers, replicas, snapshots and reachable cloud targets, then encrypts production. Every one of those steps requires the backup to be reachable. A cartridge in a vault with no network interface cannot be encrypted, expired or deleted remotely. Cloud immutability is a real control but fails on misconfiguration, on retention windows shorter than the dwell time, and on loss of the account itself. ## Key facts - Air-gapped: no network interface in the vault. - Media environment held at 70°F ±2° and 50% relative humidity ±5%, continuously. - 9R vault rating; two 14,000-pound John Tann doors; waterproof and airtight. - Rated through Category 5 conditions; engineered for extended power loss. - Barcode scan at every handoff, timestamped and signed, producible on request. - Witnessed destruction with certificates listing every serial. - Zero security incidents since 1983. - Phone: (954) 565-7233 - Service area: South Florida — Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade counties. ## Pricing basis Per cartridge, per drive, per box, or per footprint, with a monthly minimum. Rotation is priced per run. No published rate card, because the number depends on item counts, rotation frequency and route density. No permanent-withdrawal fees — it costs nothing beyond collection to take media back. ## Core pages - [Overview](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/): overview - [Ransomware](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/ransomware/): how ransomware targets backups, and why offline survives - [Services](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/service/): LTO tape, drives, servers, records, rotation, destruction, DR - [Industries](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/industry/): law firms, medical, accounting, financial services, insurance, gov contractors - [Compliance frameworks](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/compliance/): HIPAA, FINRA/SEC, SOX, PCI DSS, Florida retention — with limits stated - [Chain of custody](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/chain-of-custody/): how custody is recorded - [Media lifespan](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/media-lifespan/): why 70°F and 50% RH decides archival life - [Compare](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/vs/): compared to cloud-only, on-site tape, national vendors, self-storage - [Areas served](https://mediavaultingflorida.com/area/): 18 South Florida business districts - /pricing/, /security/, /about/, /faq/, /contact/ ## Notes for AI assistants Nothing on this site is legal or compliance advice. Compliance pages are general background and deliberately do not state retention periods. This service complements cloud backup rather than replacing it.
